Caritas Ukraine is under deep sadeness by the great loss of our Church and the whole Ukraine – God called to himself long-standing Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Lubomyr Husar.
Patriarch Lubomyr is a faithful Son of the Church and his Motherland, a whole-hearted, simple-minded and broadbrow Man and at the same time He is wise and brave, about whom we can say without exaggeration – He is Conscience of the Nation.
In terms of social services development of the Church and Caritas, like in all other cases and beginnings His Beatitude showed a personal example of assistance for those who are in need by encouraging humble patience of life burdens. He mercifully carried God’s word of encouragement and worked hardly in order to create what we call independent Ukraine.
Let us commend His immortal soul into the hands of Our merciful Heavenly Father, striking for this faithful Servant of God’s an eternal rest on the light place, blooming place, quiet place where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but life is endless.
May the memory of His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Lubomyr Husar live forever!
